What is a Health & Wellness Coach?
How to choose a nutrition expert
With all the nutrition information available today, where do you turn for advice? Before you spend your money and energy to work with a “nutritionist” check out their credentials! Some states do not have regulations or laws regarding using the title “nutritionist” or "nutritional practitioner", however if an individual has the title “RD” they must be either certified or licensed with the state.
Choose a registered dietitian (RD) if you want a professional that has met the following criteria:
The best choice for nutrition information is a registered dietitian, or an individual with a Masters or PhD in Human Nutrition. Registered dietitians are licensed in most states, follow evidence-based scientific nutrition and are required to abide by a strict code of ethics to keep you safe!
To avoid inaccurate and confusing nutrition "advice" choose a nutrition expert with at least a minimum of a Bachelors of Science in Human Nutrition.
